⏱️ it's never too late

Good day Reader,

Isn't it funny how it doesn't matter how old you are, you always feel like you missed it?

Personal example - I graduated college in 2002 with a degree in Computer Science. When I started in 1998, the dot com boom was already roaring.. that's kind of why I chose CS.

By 2001, the bubble collapsed and I felt like I missed it. (well, I technically did miss it)

The bubble may have burst but I didn't miss the rise of the Internet. I caught that one. There's always another wave.

(I'm showing my age by capitalizing the letter I in internet, huh? 🤣)

⏱️ it's never too late

Life is long and there's always going to be another "next thing." There always is.

Many business founders don't start their business until their forties, once they've had many years of work and life experience behind them.

If you feel like you're behind or you're late, read this:

💵 How to create an emergency plan

Despite 44% of Americans being unable to pay for a $500 emergency out of savings, we all know that an emergency fund is important... but do you have an emergency plan?

You need one 👇

🤯 Did you know someone stole $44 billion?

Stealing a million dollars isn't cool.

You know what is?

A billion.

And what's cooler than being cool?

$44 billion!

I didn't even know that was possible... but it was.

And in Vietnam, that means the death penalty unless she returns at least 75% of it... yikes.

(btw, was two cultural references in one section too many references?)

Hi, I'm Jim Wang and I share my strategies and tactics for managing your money and enjoying more out of life.

I have been writing about money for nearly 20 years and believe that personal finance is one of those subjects that is made complicated because it benefits a select few. Our aim is to help make it easier to understand so that regular folks can use what we teach to take control of their money and build wealth.

Good morning Reader, I've been playing around with the idea of creating a community where we could all hang out - share ideas, ask questions, etc. - is that something you'd be interested in? Hit reply and let me know what you think (good or bad!) - I'd love to hear your thoughts on something like this. Good morning Reader, Quick heads up: This afternoon, the Fed will announce what it'll do with interest rates and traders expect it'll get lowered by 25 basis points to 3.75-4.00%. (nationally available CD Rates are mostly under 4% these days) When rates go down, borrowers get rewarded and savers get punished. It's cheaper to borrow and you get paid less to save. The economy will like it, as companies like to borrow money, but remember that if you want to get higher yield on your savings, lock...

Good morning Reader, My parents visited last week, the first week of the government shutdown, but their friends were able to visit various D.C. museums because they still had funding. Now most are closed. NPR has a good updated recap of what's being impacted as the shutdown enters it's 4th week. Has the shutdown impacted you?
