🀹 An app maximize your credit card rewards

Good morning Reader,

If you're getting a ton of credit card offers and want them to stop, register on OptOutPrescreen. This makes it so that the credit bureaus won't provide your credit file to companies for "firm offers" of credit that you don't initiate. Companies where you already have a relationship with may still send you offers, but it can help cut down on that junk mail.

And if you want to cut down on the catalogs you receive, head over to Catalog Choice. They can help you reduce those, but it's on a case by case basis.

If you use multiple rewards credit cards and find it difficult to keep track of their offers, CardPointers may be the solution.

I like it because it can activate all those limited time special offers, but it's great for juggling cashback too:

Remember when Capital One bought ING Direct? Those "360 savings accounts" were locked into a low interest rate while the "360 Performance savings accounts" were actually high yield.

If you were on the newsletter, I brought it up back in 2019 and explained how to convert it. 🀣

Customers sued, CapOne settled, and so if you had an account you could be owed money. Here's the settlement website.

It's a sneaky list - unbranded clothes, slow travel, boutique fitness, etc.

Hi, I'm Jim Wang and I share my strategies and tactics for managing your money and enjoying more out of life.

I have been writing about money for nearly 20 years and believe that personal finance is one of those subjects that is made complicated because it benefits a select few. Our aim is to help make it easier to understand so that regular folks can use what we teach to take control of their money and build wealth.

Good morning Reader, My parents visited last week, the first week of the government shutdown, but their friends were able to visit various D.C. museums because they still had funding. Now most are closed. NPR has a good updated recap of what's being impacted as the shutdown enters it's 4th week. Has the shutdown impacted you? Good morning Reader, Did you know Amazon has an Alexa skill where you can ask it to send you samples? It's made by and after you set up the skill, you can ask Alexa to send you samples if they have them. I explain it on Instagram, which has decided to cut off my hair whenever I use a green screen. 🀣 You can also sign up to SendMeASample.com directly and request samples. Right now they're giving a sample of Chomps. (View this email as a webpage) ⏲️ It’s never too late When I was younger, I was...

Good morning Reader, If you're interested in a tiny side hustle, there's a group called PFS Buyer Club that helps source in-demand items for their members - usually these are limited release coins from the Mint. You buy a limited release coin for ~$110, they buy it from you for $140, and you make $30 as the intermediary. PFS Buyer Club is free to join. You won't get rich but I've done a few of these in the past and haven't run into any issues. Here's my review of the process. (View this email...
