⏲️ It’s never too late

Good morning Reader,

Did you know Amazon has an Alexa skill where you can ask it to send you samples? It's made by and after you set up the skill, you can ask Alexa to send you samples if they have them.

I explain it on Instagram, which has decided to cut off my hair whenever I use a green screen. 🤣

You can also sign up to SendMeASample.com directly and request samples. Right now they're giving a sample of Chomps.

⏲️ It’s never too late

When I was younger, I was always in a hurry.

Things were never going fast enough. I was impatient. I wanted things to happen immediately and so I pushed and I pushed and I pushed.

I see that in our kids and while I never want to put speed limits on their desires and ambitions, it's important to remember that in many things, it's never too late.

💻 Prediction markets want insider trading

Prediction markets are places where you can make bets on whether something will happen. Will team A beat team B? Who will win the Nobel Prize?

These markets are unregulated so insider trading is likely. Maybe not for a game but there are other events you can track, like who will be TIME’s Person of the Year for 2025, where someone is likely to know before the issue is released.

Lit Nomad argues that the prediction market's business model isn’t that of a sportsbook, trying to earn money by taking a cut of all the bets, but is closer to Bloomberg where you can sell the data. Prediction markets want insider trading because that’s valuable information that makes the predictions more accurate.

The video is only 11 minutes long and the final two minutes where he talks about creating markets and leveraging your insider information was less interesting to me (it's legally gray and not something I'd do) but it's an interesting view on these billion dollar markets.

Hi, I'm Jim Wang and I share my strategies and tactics for managing your money and enjoying more out of life.

I have been writing about money for nearly 20 years and believe that personal finance is one of those subjects that is made complicated because it benefits a select few. Our aim is to help make it easier to understand so that regular folks can use what we teach to take control of their money and build wealth.

Good morning Reader, To those who observe Thanksgiving, Happy almost-Turkey Day! It's one of my favorite holidays not because of the food but because it's a reminder of how good we have it. It doesn't matter if the year has been good or bad, the fact that we can spend it with family and friends makes it better. I hope you are able to spend it with the ones you care about. And, can I ask a small favor? Would you be able to add Wallet Hacks to your list of Preferred Sources in Google? Go to...

Good morning Reader, The final penny rolled off the Mint a week ago and now the U.S. Mint is auctioning off 24K gold three-coin sets. You can tell they're part of the final run because, well, they're made of gold but also because they have a special Omega (Ω) privy mark. I get that the Mint sells coins for a profit... ... but this one feels a little weird. What do you think? Good morning Reader, At last check, the government looks to be on the verge of reopening after eight Democrats agreed to the resolution in return for a promise of a vote on Affordable Care Act subsidies. Despite what you may think about the politics of the matter, we can all agree it's crazy our country punishes itself like this every few months. Oh, and in the meantime, we haven't gotten any government reports but Goldman Sachs thinks we lost 50,000 jobs in October. That's not good. (View...
