A little bit story time today... I want to share my biggest investing mistake and it's one that experts warn you about all the time.

No, I didn't try to time the market.

No, I didn't take on more risk than I should have.

No, I didn't try to day trade NVIDIA or anything else.

It was simpler than that.

Do you remember how panicked everyone was during the pandemic? Overflowing hospitals, people were dying, and the stock market cratered as we shut down everything.

If you remember what that was like, you know where my head was at.

Now add four little kids and now you can at least understand why I made this mistake. 🤣

Did you know that some states don't tax retirement income?

9 states don't tax income at all
13 don't tax defined contribution plan income
15 don't tax pension income
32 don't tax military pension income
37 states don't tax social security income

This is, of course, only at the state level.
